In 2018 the ACEO resurfaced a total of 7.1 miles of asphalt road that required significant repair prior to the asphalt overlay. Burr Oak Road was paved using federal funding from the Eastern Federal Lands Access Program (EFLAP) with 20% local funds. This project was bid out to Nuko Paving with the total construction cost of $191,970 for 1.0 mile paving.

Athens County Salt Building
The Athens County Engineer’s Office designed a 60′ x 98′-2″ salt building in the fall of 2014. The building was constructed by Thompson Concrete of Carroll, Ohio at a price of $277,009. The project was constructed on a tight timeline and was completed nearly one month early on December 9, 2014. This building will hold approximately 3000 tons of salt.
