Johnson Road Closure- The Athens County Engineer’s Position
ODOT hosted a Virtual Public Meeting on March 10th, 2021 regarding the closure of the Johnson Road connection to the US-33 intersection.
Athens County Engineer, Jeff Maiden, supports closure of the MEDIAN ONLY of US 33 at the Johnson Rd intersection at this time. The Engineer believes the right turn in / right turn out of Johnson Road and US 33 intersection should remain in place. The Engineer’s opinion is based on a review of crashes at the intersection and as advised by Paul Goodhue, PE, PTOE.
